Black Bull Hotel - Lauder

The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. The bar offered a great selection of local drinks, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I appreciated the friendly service throughout 🥂

The location was marvellous, for example, Lauder Golf Club was within easy walking distance of the hotel. Further, it was right by the center, Melrose to the south and Scottish Borders. The breakfast was satisfactory and included.

The setting was quite stunning and lovely within easy reach of a grand mansion.

Fantastic meals with local produce. Cozy atmosphere but limited vegetarian options on the menu. Perfect spot if you're fishing nearby.

Comfortable room, quiet location, with a huge bath and shower unit ensuring a refreshing experience after exploring the village and enjoying the lovely on-site restaurant that served great tasting food.

Enjoyed a cozy atmosphere, but the wardrobe hinges were squeaky.

We explored fine golf courses and enjoyed local fishing spots. The rooms were beautifully renovated and super comfy, we had a great night's sleep. Staff were great, and the food was fantastic-especially the steak pie! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fun getaway.

Unfortunately, the bathroom could've used a little more ventilation after showers. Nothing major, but worth mentioning.

I rolled into the Black Bull after a long drive, and it felt cute right from the start. The restaurant served a gourmet meal that impressed me. I had roast beef that melted in my mouth alongside the perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding. The dining area had a cozy atmosphere, ideal for a relaxing evening. Breakfast was just as good, with a variety of options available. The staff consistently provided friendly service. The room I stayed in was clean and spacious, and the decor was tasteful. I appreciated the comfortable bed and the large shower. Parking at the rear was convenient, though the entrance between the buildings required caution. One downside was the hotel closing on Sunday night, leaving us with no chance for a late-night drink or snack upon returning. The menu could use more vegetarian options. Those minor issues didn't overshadow the great experience I had at the Black Bull.

Had a fantastic night with amazing hosts and the coziest armchairs by the fire. The TV was a little far from the bed, but overall, that didn't put a damper on my experience. Definitely grab a drink at the bar and try the delicious food. You won't regret it! 🍻

Perfect spot for relaxing getaway

We rolled into this small town after a long drive and found the hotel just shining like a beacon with its inviting lights. The food in the restaurant was unexpectedly gourmet, I had this roast beef dish that melted in my mouth while the Yorkshire pudding was just perfection.

It wasn't exactly cheap but for the quality, I'd say it's still acceptable.

The bed was comfy, and the room's tasteful decor added a warm touch to our stay. Enjoying the evening meal, the natural cut fries stood out as a delicious highlight. A disappointing experience was marred by a distant reception from the owner, who seemed grumpy upon our arrival and at dinner. The room felt overpriced given the condition, with visible wear evident from photos taken .

Amazing food and friendly vibes!

Stayed for 1 night and wow! The food in the restaurant was great, much better than we expected for a small place. The staff were super friendly, and the whole hotel felt cozy and cute. Only wish the bar area had longer hours. We missed out on a few evening drinks. Definitely a hidden gem!

The Beautiful King Room was super cozy and instantly was like home. The bed was ridiculously comfy-like, you just melt into it and don't want to get out! The shower had plenty of space, and the heated mirror was a nice touch. Everything was clean and stylish. Just a lovely, relaxed vibe all around!

Spacious room with a unique decor with horse racing art and industrial touches. The en suite bathroom was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast showcased excellent use of local organic products, leaving us satisfied. The staff were engaging and attentive. The only downside was the lack of a view due to the electric Velux window.
